Build Your Own Tree Stand

Building your own personal hunting tree stand is a very important and necessary step before going into a hunt. Moreover, this is so significant that you should construct it while considering your own safety. As a matter of fact, more hunters are greatly injured by falling out of their tree stands than by accidental shootings. Most of these risky stands or ladders are the portable ones so as much as possible though it’s painstaking, it’s still better if you build your own tree stand.

The first thing to do is to choose a tree. Pick the one that has spreading branches such as those you would use for a tree house. You’ll surely sit still for hours while waiting for the hunt so be sure to make yourself comfortable by making walls and roof in your stand. Moreover, the additional cover helps mask the hunter’s scent too. Applying camouflage paint will render the stand almost undetectable to the deer. Also make sure to place the stand at least 2 months beforehand so the deer can get used to its placement.
