Cleaning a deer in various ways can be much simpler than cleaning other animals given that you’re prepared for the task, have the proper equipments, and have an idea of what to anticipate.

The equipments you’ll need are pretty basic. A sharp high-quality hunting knife with a solid and fairly heavy blade is the perfect tool to use. Lower quality knives can also do; however, it can make the field dressing more of a chore. Once you get back to the camp, you’ll need a rope and deer bag for hanging the deer. You’ll also need plenty of water for cleaning your hands, the knife, and the internal cavity of the deer.

Remember that cutting should be done very carefully so as not to damage the meat. Moreover, prevent the deer hair from touching any exposed meat because this can spoil the meat and give it a gamy taste.
