Turkey Hunting: The Early And Prepared Bird Gets The Bird
Early Preparation
It is important that you start to scout early in the year. If you start early, you can scout for more possible locations to hunt. You can also ask the permissions if you have marked a certain private property as a hunting ground. Try to gather as many locations as possible so as to always have a backup for the backup. This is to ensure that you will not leave empty handed when the season opens.
Go Out For A Drive
Go out and drive on the country roads. Sooner or later you will encounter a bird or two and you can find out the places where they flock. This is one technique which you can use to find a perfect hunting place. The time of the day also plays a very important role here. So it would be better to go out and drive in the morning one day, afternoon in the second, etcetera.
Another tip here is to always bring a pen and a piece of paper so you can write down the different spots where you have located them.
Gather Information
You can ask for information from people who are most of the time on the road. A good example of this is your friendly neighborhood mail carrier. You can ask him or her whether he or she has seen birds then followed up with the questions where and when. Information in hand, you can check out the place for yourself and see whether it is a conducive location for hunting.
Doing this early in the year may seem to be hard work but these tips can greatly pay off in the end.

I suspect finding birds will become even harder as food prices in grocery stores keep going up. These tips will help hunters out.
